Michigan Town Becomes Second Amendment Sanctuary, Creates Official Militia to Stop Enforcement of Illegal Gun Control
A Michigan town has passed a resolution declaring themselves to be a 2nd Amendment sanctuary, and they intend to back that resolution up by force if needed.
Holton Township, Mich. passed the resolution on Tuesday night and are creating a volunteer militia in the town that can interpose itself against the enforcement of illegal, unconstitutional gun control recently approved by the far-left Democrat legislator and governor.
The township is enacting these policies because they feel they are “necessary for the security and rights of Holton Township residents.”
“The people of Holton Township, through their duly elected members of the Holton Township Board, hereby designate Holton Township as a Second Amendment Sanctuary in order to preserve for the people of, on and in Holton Township, the inalienable rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America,” the resolution states.
“We, the people of Holton Township, hereby declare our inalienable rights, our freedom and our Liberty as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America,” the resolution adds.
In order to join the militia, Holton Township residents need to be the age of 18 or older, pass a federal firearms background check, and issue a letter or state on social media that they want to join the militia. The resolution was signed by the Holton Township clerk Malinda Pago, who also serves as the Co-Chair of the Michigan Republican Party.
Big League Politics has reported on how red flag gun control is causing state police in Michigan to be concerned for their safety:
“Law enforcement officials in Michigan are beginning to question the viability of enforcing red flag gun confiscation orders. According to independent media outlet Bridge Michigan, Robert Stevenson, executive director of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, is worried about how police will enforce Michigan’s new red flag law, which goes into effect in the spring of 2024. Stevenson drew out several situations in which this gun grab could create lethal risks.
Bridge Michigan noted the following potentially lethal scenarios that Stevenson put forward:
“What happens if the person with the order tries to hurt the officers? What if the person who was deemed suicidal becomes overwhelmed and still poses harm to themselves when their guns are being seized? What if the individual with an order has to be detained by force or even be killed, due to the threat they pose?”
Red flag gun confiscation orders have become a favorite measure of the anti-gun Left. These laws grant judges the power to issue gun bans and confiscation orders when a petition is able to demonstrate another individual’s alleged threat to themselves or others.
Frankly, this a recipe for all sorts of disaster, with law enforcement potentially being placed in deadly situations against gun owners who may not be aware of the alleged crimes they’ve been charged for. Moreover, red flag laws are a complete violation of due process rights and grant the government more power to infringe on gun rights.”
More cities need to do this in order to nullify gun control and other constitutional infringements. This is the only way that liberty will be preserved as society falls.
