NRSC & DC Swamp Go All In for Pro-Abortion Senate Pick by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp Against President Trump’s Wishes

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the electoral arm of the GOP establishment, are reportedly 100% behind the appointment of Democrat Party donor Kelly Loeffler to the U.S. Senate.
The announcement will be made official on Wednesday according to AJC.com, as Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will announce that Loeffler will replace departing Sen. Johnny Isakson. The NRSC has indicated they will be treating her as a legitimate incumbent and giving her their full backing.
Despite having a long history of donating to Democratic Party politicians, Loeffler ingratiated herself with the GOP establishment by giving a $750,000 donation to a Super PAC supporting Mitt Romney’s failed presidential ambitions in 2012.
That payment showed the NRSC that she is willing to play ball and follow orders from Conservative Inc. During a recent phone call with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, he assured Loeffler that the big money would be fully behind her. Loeffler is now a made woman, and she is slated to assume her role in the U.S. Senate next year.
President Donald Trump recommended that Kemp appoint Rep. Doug Collins, a Republican lawmaker with a long track record of standing strong for conservative values in the U.S. House. Gov. Kemp has ignored his advice and instead will choose a pay-to-play businesswoman with a history of supporting abortion.
Loeffler sits on the board of the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, which is Georgia’s top abortion provider. She also owns a WNBA team, the Atlanta Dream, that participated in a voluntary profit-sharing scheme with Planned Parenthood and other far-left social justice charities.
Pro-life organizations rightfully see Gov. Kemp’s appointment of Loeffler to the U.S. Senate as a slap in the face.
“We’re past the point of ever being willing to accept sort of a passive argument for someone’s pro-life advocacy or pro-life position,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony’s List. “All we’ve seen is evidence of her leadership positions and what she’s failed to do with them.”
“After the Senate gains made by conservative and pro-life candidates in the 2018 election, this would be a huge setback,” said Tom McClusky, president of March for Life, in a statement.
Rep. Collins told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he would “strongly” consider a primary challenge next year if he did not receive the Senate appointment. Similar to what happened with Judge Roy Moore during his U.S. Senate race in 2017 and what is going on with former Kansas attorney general Kris Kobach’s U.S. Senate race now, the NRSC will not make it easy for Collins to defeat the establishment’s choice. Gov. Kemp is betraying the conservatives who put him into office.
