Obama in 2008: ‘How Many Times Is Biden Gonna Say Something Stupid?’
Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is getting roundly mocked for his persistent efforts to paint himself as Barack Obama’s best friend and Obama’s favored candidate in the presidential race, despite evidence to the contrary.
“How many times is Biden gonna say something stupid?” Obama reportedly said on the 2008 campaign trail after somewhat reluctantly choosing Biden as his running mate, as reported by the tell-all book Game Change.
Obama’s top strategist threw shade at Biden when Biden tried to insinuate that he was Obama’s BFF on “Best Friends Day.”
“This is a joke, right?” Axelrod responded to Biden’s Twitter offering of a best friend bracelet to Obama.

Biden hilariously claimed on The View that he asked Obama not to endorse him out of the gate because he didn’t want it to look like he was simply Obama’s horse in the race (spoiler: he’s not).
Biden said that he asked Obama not to endorse because “I didn’t want to make it look like he was putting his thumb on the scale here.” Biden also falsely said that there was not a whisper of scandal in the eight years of Obama’s presidency, and told an anecdote about helping “a guy on a bucket” who was working a job.
“I travelled around the world an awful lot as Vice President, and since then I have as well. And the rest of the world, I mean, they look at us like, My God!,” Biden said, as Joy Behar interrupted, “What happened to America?”
“They’re looking like, my Lord, what’s going on?”
Biden continues to experience fallout from his recent gaffe about traveling to “the hood” to help women Learn to Code.
HotNewHipHop.com reports: “Joe Biden’s found himself in some hot water, once again…Most recently, his comments about his trek to the “hood” have left many wondering just how out of touch he actually is. Joe Biden’s looking to win over the votes of the African-American community but as a politician, referring to inner-city communities as “the hood” is probably not the best way to go about it. During a stop on his campaign trail in Iowa, the former vice president spoke about the efforts to evolve the economy in cities such as Detroit which is when he brought up how he went to the hood to teach women of color how to code.”
Not good!
Here is Biden’s full quote: “Through a program, we had through community colleges, we said look, put together a program for us where we could teach people how to code. We went out, literally into the hood, and they found, turns out, 54 [people], they happened to be all women, the vast majority were women of color, no more than a high school degree, aged 25-54, and a third of them only had GEDs.”
