Payment Processor Stripe Bans Congressional Candidate Laura Loomer, Cutting Her Off From GOP Funds
Florida U.S. Congressional candidate Laura Loomer has been banned from the payment processing service Stripe, as they have joined the Big Tech conspiracy to deplatform the rising GOP star.
Loomer received the following notice from Stripe that they had cancelled payment processing for The Loomer Project, which is a fund to support her independent journalism projects:
“I’m writing to let you know that we are no longer able to accept payments for The Loomer Project after 2021-04-12. After a recent review of your website and account information, we’ve found that your business presents a higher level of risk than we’re able to work with. Specifically, your business is in violation of our Stripe Services Agreement, section A.7.b (Restricted Businesses and Activities”) [0].
Additionally, we request that you remove any references to Stripe on your site, including any code, such as API keys and any plugins [1]. We can provide you with fourteen days to switch to a new provider. After that, you won’t be able to accept additional charges on your account, but we will continue making transfers to your bank account until you receive all of your funds [2].
If you believe we have made an error in this determination or have since removed violating content, please let us know. Regards, Stripe.”
Loomer made the announcement on her Telegram channel that Stripe gave her the ax. She is now deplatformed on virtually every mainstream tech platform.
“Well. Just got back to my hotel room in Tallahassee after giving a speech about big tech censorship and speaking to FL lawmakers about the FL big tech bill only to find out I’ve been BANNED from Stripe, the payment processor. Stripe was my last resort. I’ve been banned pretty much everywhere else. It’s how I make a living through my website and fund my investigative journalism and activism,” she wrote in a Telegram post.
Loomer told Big League Politics that she can no longer receive support from the Republican Party because of Stripe’s decision to tread upon her freedom.
“I’m a Congressional candidate in President Trump’s home district and Stripe is the payment processor the RNC and NRCC use via Win Red,” Loomer said.
With the likes of Ronna Romney-McDaniel steering the ship, do not expect any official GOP organization to use their power to protect Loomer’s rights. As we have seen with the Texas GOP, any support of competitors to tech monopolies will be crushed by the party establishment.
“I’d love to know how the GOP and RNC plan on addressing the debanking of Republican candidates and why they are still using fundraising platforms reliant on stripe when President Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, has also been banned from Stripe,” Loomer said.
“The Republican Party shouldn’t be enabling big tech election interference and censorship through business dealings with big tech companies payment processors like Stripe that have anti-competitive and discriminatory practices,” she added.
Loomer will continue her campaign for Congress despite the Orwellian pushback from the world’s most powerful corporations, putting her neck on the line everyday to defend freedom throughout her trials.
