A recent report from Far Left Watch reveals that radical communists set on “armed revolution” against the capitalist state are actively recruiting the mentally ill in Austin, TX to join their efforts. Thanks to the investigative journalism of Far Left Watch, documents from the group “Red Guards Austin” have been released, and show their plans to recruit those with mental illnesses.
The 13,000 word document in question is titled “Revolutionary Mental Health Program (RMHP),” and it covers the formations, goals, failures, and successes of the program, which they ultimately decided to end. Their stated goal was to address the mental health issues of students, so they could become more capable to their revolution, and ultimately more capable of carrying it out. That goal is laid out in the following statement in the document:
“The primary goal of this program was to address the mental health needs of students in a way that would primarily serve to politicize and strengthen them, to become more committed to revolution and more capable of carrying it out.”
The group got the idea to target those with mental illnesses from the Socialist Patients Collective, which is a neo-Marxist group that attempted to re-frame “mental illness” as a product of capitalist oppression, in order to mobilize those with mental illnesses to join them. In their eyes, the sick could become a revolutionary class of people who would join their cause if recruited. They specifically mention the group in their document:
“Over the winter of 2016 and in the early spring of 2017, the leadership of RSF spent a significant amount of time studying the work “Turn Illness into a Weapon,” which recounts the experiences of the Socialist Patients’ Collective (SPK) of the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in 1970.“
Red Guard Austin had made themselves well known in the media after taking up the tactic of openly carrying firearms while waving Communist flags. Their goal is to intimidate, and to recruit for their ultimate goal of armed revolution.
It is surprising that they use the tactic of openly carrying firearms, while downright admitting that they are recruiting those with mental illnesses, considering that those with mental illnesses generally are not legally allowed to own firearms. But the Red Guard Austin doesn’t seem to let that stop them, considering they downright admit that many of their members have mental illnesses.
“Orienting recruitment toward those suffering from qualitatively more intense mental illness, a population whose conditions in general serve as barriers to reaching the point of being continuous fighters (we say “in general” because many of the best organizers in the revolutionary movement and our organization also suffer from these conditions) does not accomplish the task of drawing from the most advanced sections of the people.”
These groups are clearly a danger to their communities. They are openly recruiting fighters to join their revolution, and openly intimidating those they disagree with. This isn’t us stating this, they directly make these same statements on their website, making it clear that their recruiting efforts are designed exclusively to bring in more “fighters.”
“The goal of every initiative and program launched by a revolutionary organization should be for the purpose of recruiting fighters into its ranks and forging them in the fiery furnace of class struggle.”
Far Left Watch is asking people to report these groups to the proper authorities.

San Francisco Dumps Environmentalism, Bans Reusable Bags at Grocery Stores During Coronavirus Pandemic
Environmentalism is thrown by the wayside during a crisis.
The ultra left-wing city of San Francisco, Calif. is bailing on environmentalism during a time of great crisis, banning the use of reusable plastic bags at grocery stores temporarily due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus.
The San Francisco Department of Public Health has issued an ordinance preventing city residents from taking reusable items into the public and using them in essential stores. They believe this will make it more difficult for germs to proliferate throughout the city.
“There is no effective treatment or cure yet for the disease, testing ability while improving remains constrained, and San Francisco’s health care system is at ongoing risk of being overwhelmed. For these reasons, it is imperative that San Francisco not only extend the duration of its stay at home order but also further limit essential activities and extend social distancing requirements outside the home,” the ordinance reads.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed has not hesitated to shut down civil society in order to combat the spread of coronavirus. She has effectively tossed environmentalism to the wayside, showing that the frequent leftist bugaboo is not actually a pressing concern.
“I can’t reiterate enough how important it is for all of us to continue to comply, for all of us to continue to be good citizens, to cooperate,” said Breed, who has issued lockdown edicts that last until at least May 3.
Today we officially extended the stay at home health order through May 3. I want to thank the people of San Francisco for continuing to do their part to save lives. I know this isn’t easy but we will get through it together. pic.twitter.com/4rggISBnQv

In 2007, San Francisco was the first city in America to ban the use of plastic shopping bags. The leftists on the Board of Supervisors enacted this prohibition to satisfy Mother Earth and potentially start a trend throughout the country.
“I am astounded and surprised by the worldwide attention,” Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi said at the time, according to the SFGate. “Hopefully, other cities and other states will follow suit.”
The grocery store lobby in the state came out against the regulation at the time, believing that it would accomplish little to help the environment and only serve to frustrate consumers.
“We’re disappointed that the Board of Supervisors is going down this path,” said Kristin Power, who worked as the vice president of government relations for the California Grocers Association.
“It will frustrate recycling efforts and will increase both consumer and retailer costs. There’s also a real concern about the availability and quality of compostable bags,” she added.
By instituting their emergency measures, San Francisco has demonstrated that environmental concerns are not particularly important in the grand scheme of things. These lofty goals are put on the back burner when a real crisis, such as the coronavirus panic, takes precedence.
