President Donald J. Trump took to Twitter to express his displeasure with a formerly-conservative cable news network.
“So weird to watch Crazy Bernie on Fox News. Not surprisingly, Bret Baier and the ‘audience’ was so smiley and nice. Very strange, and now we have Donna Brazile?” he said.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 16, 2019
Last night, hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum tossed softball questions at Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and even let the 2020 presidential candidate claim that writing a book, published through a private publishing company, from which he personally made more than one million dollars, was not an example of how free market capitalism works for Americans.
Trump is not the only one who is skeptical of Fox News’ apparent turn towards the political left.
Big League Politics has been reporting on the network’s change of pace for months. As Trump mentioned in his Tweet, former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile was hired by the network a month ago.
During her first appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity” as an employee of the once conservative news network, host Sean Hannity spent the first minute or so of the segment attempting to endear himself to the former DNC chairwoman.
Hannity had Brazile on as a guest last night, in what represents her first appearance on Fox News as a paid employee. He spent the first few minutes of the interview stroking her ego and virtue signalling about Fox News’ commitment to having on air personalities with diverse opinions.
As he announced her, Brazile stopped him in the first few seconds and said “First of all you should say, ‘Welcome Donna!’” This prompted Hannity to spend the next minute or so feeding the ego of the scandalized Democrat.
“I’ve known you for years. We have had a very friendly, I would say, cordial relationship,” said Hannity. “We’ve met at a lot of debates, we’ve met at a lot of conventions. We always have a good time. We ask how each other are doing, and we never agree on much, do we?”
He then added “By the way, just for being on this show you will get in trouble with some Democrats. ‘Why are you on Hannity’s show, why do you talk to him, he’s not a nice guy!’ Then you’re going to have to tell them, well he’s not that bad.”
Brazile then noted her previous appearances on Hannity before becoming a Fox News employee, when he allowed her to advertise her new book.
Hannity then expressed his gleefulness at Fox News’ having “varying opinions.”
“Well welcome to the Fox News Channel, and for those that say we don’t have varying opinions, I could go down the list,” said Hannity, “and if I do I’ll probably get in trouble, so I’m going to stay away from trouble for once in my life.”

More than 40 College and Young Republican Groups Sign Letter Demanding Action on Big Tech Censorship from Senate GOP
Calling out Silicon Valley’s election interference.
Almost 50 youth conservative organizations, ranging from Young to College Republican Chapters and America First student groups, signed onto an open letter on Friday demanding action from Senate Republicans on Big Tech censorship and political authoritarianism.
The young conservatives and nationalists cited the recent suppression of the Hunter Biden email scandal, with platforms such as Twitter implementing an unprecedented level of political censorship to squelch a New York Post report detailing insider foreign business dealings and Joe Biden’s knowledge of them.
Read the letter in its entirely here.
In a statement provided to Big League Politics, College Republicans United at Arizona State University emphasized the need for conservatives to unite against the authoritarian alliance of the Democratic Party and Silicon Valley tech monopolies.
“Democrats use to be the loudest critics of ‘Corporate America’ trampling on the rights of average Americans. These days they are nothing more then corporate apologists who protect crony capitalism.”
Populist Senator Josh Hawley has taken point in the drive to hold Silicon Valley oligarchs to account for their censorship of the American people, but the anti-Big Tech movement has been hamstrung by malcontents within the Senate GOP caucus unwilling to do little more than whine about censorship, while actively undermining a policy solution.
