Trump Welcomes Scandal-Plagued ‘Sleepy Joe’ Biden to the Presidential Race

Biden is considered the most viable primary candidate by many on the political left.

Thursday morning, President Donald J. Trump welcomed former vice president Joe Biden to the 2020 presidential race, shortly after Biden announced his candidacy.

“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!” he said.

Trump likely chose the nickname because Biden appeared to have a snooze during late Sen. John McCain’s funeral.

Biden is the frontrunner in many Democratic Party polls, edging out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is followed by South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a surprising upstart candidate.

Biden has recently been embroiled in scandal over his physical contact with women over the years. Big League Politics reported:

Former vice president and possible Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden stands accused of physical misconduct against a female Latina Democrat politician.

The accusation against Biden marks one of the first major direct accusations against Biden during this campaign cycle, but insiders believe many more are coming. Big League Politics learned about the impending accusation Wednesday night and monitored the situation as Lucy Flores came forward with her bold first-person essay in New York magazine. BLP has not spoken to Flores directly but now we have her own words describing the disturbing encounter at a campaign event with Eva Longoria, via New York mag’s “The Cut”:

“In 2014, I was the 35-year-old Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in Nevada…As I was taking deep breaths and preparing myself to make my case to the crowd, I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. “Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?”

I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified. I thought to myself, “I didn’t wash my hair today and the vice-president of the United States is smelling it. And also, what in the actual fuck? Why is the vice-president of the United States smelling my hair?” He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused. There is a Spanish saying, “tragame tierra,” it means, “earth, swallow me whole.” I couldn’t move and I couldn’t say anything. I wanted nothing more than to get Biden away from me. My name was called and I was never happier to get on stage in front of an audience.

By then, as a young Latina in politics, I had gotten used to feeling like an outsider in rooms dominated by white men. But I had never experienced anything so blatantly inappropriate and unnerving before. Biden was the second-most powerful man in the country and, arguably, one of the most powerful men in the world. He was there to promote me as the right person for the lieutenant governor job. Instead, he made me feel uneasy, gross, and confused. The vice-president of the United States of America had just touched me in an intimate way reserved for close friends, family, or romantic partners — and I felt powerless to do anything about it.”

Several other women have accused Biden of similar activity, forcing him to pledge to stop groping women. Biden’s history of plagiarism also resurfaced amid the groping claims.

Joe Biden Admits He Wasn’t “Arrested” In South Africa After Exaggerated Claims

Biden said he was arrested trying to visit Nelson Mandela.

Joe Biden is walking back an exaggerated campaign talking point, after being questioned on his claims of being ‘arrested’ in apartheid-era South Africa trying to visit Nelson Mandela in prison.

Biden all but admitted his claims of being arrested were false in an interview on CNN Friday.

He’s claimed that he was “arrested” in several South Carolina campaign speeches trying to visit the South African political leader.

This day 30 years ago, Nelson Mandela walked out of prison and entered into discussions about apartheid. I had the great honor of meeting him. I had the great honor of being arrested with our UN ambassador on the streets of Soweto trying to get to see him on (Robben) Island,” Biden claimed at a Columbia campaign event earlier this month. He’s repeated the claims two times since then.

Biden admitted to CNN’s Joe Berman that he was merely stopped by customs police at the airport for a short period of time when arriving in the country with the Congressional Black Caucus for a visit in the 1970’s.

His claims of being arrested during a direct attempt to visit Mandela are equally dubious, considering he was merely stopped in the city of Soweto. Soweto is hundreds of miles away from Cape Town’s Robben Island, where Mandela was imprisoned for decades by the apartheid-era government.

For what it’s worth, the western political leaders such as Joe Biden who were acutely interested in South Africa during the Apartheid era of political repression have largely forgotten about the country and its declining standard of living since then.
