Trump Will Give Devin Nunes and Jim Jordan Presidential Medal of Freedom for Roles in Handling the Russiagate and Impeachment Hoaxes
According to Axios, President Donald Trump is expected to give Representatives Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The medal is the highest possible civilian honor in the United States. Nunes and Jordan have been staunch allies and defenders of President Trump throughout his first term, going to bat for him during the failed Russia investigation and then during his sham impeachment.
Back in October of 2018 Trump said that Nunes would be a worthy candidate to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, though he mistakenly called it the “Medal of Honor,” which is the highest possible military honor. Trump cited Nunes’ courage in taking the Justice Department head-on during the Russia investigation.
Big League Politics covered some of Nunes’ previous efforts against the investigation, which you can read about here.
Jordan’s efforts to help President Trump have not gone unnoticed either. In 2019 Big League Politics covered his letter to the Democratic House Oversight Committee which accused the late Elijah Cummings of colluding with other Democratic representatives, specifically Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff, to withhold information from Republicans pertaining to the Russia investigation.
“This subpoena is a grave abuse of the Committee’s authority and a violation of the Chairman’s pledge to the Committee,” Jordan wrote.
Then later in the year, when Jordan was expected to join the House Intel Committee, a lawsuit accused him of ignoring a sexual assault allegation when he served as an assistant coach for Ohio State University’s wrestling team. Jordan denied all the charges against him and nothing ultimately came of the lawsuit.
Congratulations to Nunes and Jordan for their expected Presidential Medal of Freedom. What a great honor for these two patriots.
