Former Marine Charged With Shooting, Running Over Seth Rich Investigator
Lobbyist Jack Burkman, who has devoted most of his energy over the past year and a half to financing investigations into the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, was shot and run over by a car.
Kevin Doherty has been charged with the crimes. Doherty is a former Marine and reportedly worked at the Department of Energy as some kind of “special agent.”
Speculation exists that Burkman hired Doherty to help him investigate the Seth Rich assassination. Burkman also had a $130,000 reward out for information leading to the apprehension of Rich’s killers. Rich was shot twice in the back in Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2016, days before Wikileaks released internal DNC emails. Rich died at a city hospital.
Slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich reportedly provided Wikileaks the exact same number of DNC emails that Wikileaks ended up publishing in its historic July 2016 release.
Fox 5 DC’s original report naming Rich as the Wikileaks source reported that Rich handed over “more than 44,000 emails” to Wikileaks.
Now, on its index page for the DNC emails, Wikileaks includes a note at the top stating that the group published exactly 44,053 emails. Wikileaks states (emphasis added):
“Starting on Friday 22 July 2016 at 10:30am EDT, WikiLeaks released over 2 publications 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments from the top of the US Democratic National Committee — part one of our new Hillary Leaks series. The leaks come from the accounts of seven key figures in the DNC…”
The police chief who oversaw Seth Rich’s unsolved murder case has socialized and been honored alongside key Hillary Clinton advisers and even Rich’s own boss at the Democratic National Committee. Rich is widely reported to be the source of Wikileaks’ damning 2016 email release that showed the DNC colluding to hand the nomination to Clinton at the expense of Bernie Sanders. He was gunned down in D.C. 12 days before Wikileaks’ release.
Former Metropolitan Police Department chief Cathy Lanier resigned from her post the month after Rich’s murder to accept a position running security for the National Football League. She sits on the Washington Police Foundation board alongside Heather Podesta, the D.C. power broker who was married to Clinton campaign chief John Podesta’s lobbyist brother Tony.
In 2014, Lanier was honored on ELLE magazine’s list of the ten most powerful women in Washington alongside top Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills and longtime Clinton friend and informal adviser Neera Tanden. Other honorees included NARAL Pro-Choice America president Ilyse Hogue and Obama Cabinet official Penny Pritzker.
Lanier did attend ELLE and Hugo Boss’ 2015 Women in Washington Power List dinner at the German ambassador’s house. Here she is chatting with Clinton crony and Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe.
That dinner was also attended by Amy Dacey, CEO of the DNC when Rich was killed, who resigned one month after Rich’s murder.
DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz also attended the dinner.
