Friday was a fun day to watch liberals have a meltdown over: Elon Musk’s attempt to buy Twitter, and the recent abortion bans being signed into law across the nation.

At of the time of this writing, Musk could be on his way to buying social media giant Twitter for a whopping $43 billion dollars. Of course, this has given us some of the best unintentional comedy.

With many left-wing users calling it, as you probably guessed, a threat to our democracy.

The Washington Post’s Max Boot tweeted, “I am frightened by the impact on society and politics if Elon Musk acquires Twitter. He seems to believe that on social media anything goes. For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less.”

Jeff Jarvis of the City University of New York tweeted, “Today on Twitter feels like the last evening in a Berlin nightclub at the twilight of Weimar Germany.”

As mentioned, left-wingers were also throwing tantrums about some of the new legislation to ban abortion in recent weeks. With prominent mainstream media talking heads denouncing the policies as an attack on women.

As Joy Reid claimed, “[Republicans] care about culling far right Christian voters, to keep themselves in power. And they sure as Hell don’t care about women.”

The MSNBC anchor went on, equating Republican leaders to the villains from The Handmaid’s Tale, stating, “This is a party of ‘Commanders,’ seeking a nation of Handmaids, Marthas, Aunties, silent wives and whores — the only categories allowed for women in Gilead.”

SiriusXM radio host Dean Obeidallah took her comments to Twitter to explain how these new bans on abortion are just another GOP attempt at religious “tyranny” and “fascism.”

“The GOP are passing laws nationwide to end abortion based on GOP’s religious beliefs,” he said. “Why aren’t Democrats calling this out for what it is: RELIGIOUS TYRANNY.”

In another tweet, Obeidallah compared the GOP to the Taliban: “Passing laws to FORCE us to follow their religion is truly the very definition of UnAmerican. It’s what the Taliban does.”

“Where is the OUTRAGE by Democratic leaders in response to the GOP passing abortion laws that LITERALLY Impose the GOP’s religious beliefs as the law of the land,” yet another tweet read. “The GOP is establishing their religion as the law of America. This is as unAmerican as it gets! #ReligiousFascism.”

Of course, all this liberal outrage was too good to be ignored for those on the opposite side of the aisle.
