Petition Asking ABC to Fire Whoopi Goldberg Reaches 100,000 Signatures
A petition calling on ABC to fire Whoopi Goldberg from her job as a host on The View has reached 100,000 signatures. The petition started after an off-camera exchange between Goldberg and Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro, where Pirro claims that she was told to “get the F out of this building.”
The petition states:
“On Thursday, Whoopi Goldberg and Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro had a heated debate that took a dark turn after the cameras turned off.
According to an interview with Judge Jeanine on Sean Hannity’s radio program, Goldberg verbally harassed Pirro on her way out.
Pirro said that Goldberg spit on her and said “Get the [BLEEP] out of here” before ultimately exiting ABC studios.
If a conservative host would have acted in this manner, you can GUARANTEE that they would have been fired on the spot!
This petition is a direct message to ABC to FIRE liberal host Whoopi Goldberg for her disgusting way of treating Judge Jeanine!”
The petition’s initial goal was to reach 50,000 signatures, but after easily reaching that goal it was increased to 75,000, and then 100,000.
Once the petition is closed, all of the signed petitions will be delivered to the front door of ABC studios in Burbank, CA. The petition is meant to send a message to the television studio that the mistreatment of conservative voices will not be tolerated.
A similar petition was run after ABC host Jimmy Kimmel made insensitive comments about First Lady Melania Trump, insulting her accent, as well as insinuating that she was attempting to escape the White House. In response, Kimmel gave a weakly worded apology for his comments.
It is unclear about whether the petition targeting Whoopi will have any effect on her employment, considering that Kimmel was not punished by his employer, but it will send a clear message regardless.
