Trump Jr. Launches New Gun Rights Group

Donald Trump Jr. vows to fight Democratic gun control proposals through his new group called The Second Amendment Task Force.

The group will lobby against gun control measures and support pro-gun candidates. Trump Jr. said the group will also work to educate gun owners on responsible gun ownership.

“We’re going to be fighting tooth and nail against any Democrat that tries to take away our Second Amendment rights,” Trump Jr. said in an interview with Fox News.

“But we’re also going to be working very hard to elect Republicans that believe in the Second Amendment, and believe in our constitutional right to keep and bear arms,” he continued.

Trump Jr. said his father, former President Donald Trump, is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and has been instrumental in protecting gun rights during his administration.

“My father has been a great defender of the Second Amendment,” Trump Jr. said.

“He’s the one that stopped gun free zones, he’s the one that put concealed carry back on the table,” Trump Jr. added.

The Second Amendment Task Force is just the latest pro-gun group to launch in the wake of the 2020 election. Other groups, such as Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association, have also ramped up their efforts to fight gun control measures.

Especially during a time when Democrats are working endlessly to enact gun control policies. With leaders like President Joe Biden even willing to ignore Congress to get the results he wants for his party.

Trump Jr. said he hopes his group can unite all gun owners under one banner to fight for their rights.

“We need to be out there fighting every day,” Trump Jr. said. “This is a battle that we can’t afford to lose.”

Trump Jr. notably rallied against David Chipman, Biden’s controversial – and eventually unsuccessful – nominee to lead the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

During his confirmation hearing, Chipman faced questions from lawmakers about his past statements supporting a ban on assault weapons and expanded background checks for gun purchases.

Trump Jr. accused Chipman of being “anti-gun” and said he would be a “danger” to the Second Amendment if confirmed.

“He is the absolute last person that should be heading up the ATF,” Trump Jr. said in another interview with Fox News.

The Second Amendment Task Force is expected to play a major role in the 2022 midterm elections and beyond. Trump Jr. said he plans to travel across the country to support pro-gun candidates and lobby against gun control measures.

“This is something that’s very important to me, it’s very important to my family, and it’s very important to millions of Americans,” Trump Jr. shared.
